How to brew with a Coffee Press - thick and rich coffee experience

Writer: AR VergAR Verg

Not only is brewing with a press, or a plunger one of the easiest ways to savor a cup in the morning, it's also the brewing process that allows you to enjoy every little thing in your cup. With French press, everything is incorporated in your cup -flavors and natural oils, which means more room to enjoy the coffee.

Step 1:

Grind your coffee and measure your water.

Keep your grind to a texture that resembles a sea salt, since you wouldn't want your grounds to filter out through the plunger mesh. For the measurement, use 2 tablespoon per 6oz water.

Step 2:

Pre-heat your press.

Fill the press with hot water to establish temperature, before adding your coffee grounds.

Step 3:

Scoop grounds then add hot water.

Add your coffee grounds to the press, then fill with hot water that's just off the boil. Always use filtered water.

Step 4:

Steep for 4 minutes.

Insert your plunger back to the press, and brew coffee for 4 minutes.

Step 5:

Press then pour.

After 4 minutes, press the plunger down, to keep the grounds at the bottom before pouring your coffee to the cup.
